Domestic Violence Awareness

Password: Purple
Password: Purple logo

The Password: Purple campaign will draw attention to issues of domestic violence and the resources and services available to the community through the Crisis Center for South Suburbia. Information about domestic violence will be a feature, as well as stories from survivors, and a candle-lighting ceremony with vigil. The vigil pays tribute to survivors of domestic violence and honors those who have lost their lives to abuse.

Join us outside, in the pavilion, Saturday, October 3, from 11 am-1 pm in recognition of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Community residents of all ages are invited to attend. A free hot dog lunch will be provided to the first 100 attendees.

Summer Reading: A Smash Hit!

Music was in the air all summer long.

We applaud the over 500 adults and 2000 children and teens who signed up.

For the second year in a row, our patrons were fortunate to be able to connect with local businesses and take advantage of their special offers.

We sincerely thank these businesses for their continued support of our library and we encourage you to thank them when you visit their establishments.

Pardon Our Dust ...AND Pollen!

As part of our restoration plans for the Tinley Park Public Library prairie and wetland, select areas are being cleared of invasive vegetation. Once these sites are prepared, native plants and seed will be installed in order to re-establish the natural ecosystems. Please pardon our appearance during this restoration process, as it can take 2-3 years for vegetation to fully establish. During this time, the new native plants will be stewarded by a team of professionals who specialize in ecological restoration.
