The Tinley Park Public Library is committed to providing our entire community with access to our full range of materials and services. We offer accommodations and tools to assist people with disabilities and strive to ensure that our physical and digital spaces are accessible.

Facilities
The library is equipped with the following:
- Elevator access
- A wheelchair on each floor of the building, available upon request
- Designated accessible parking spaces
If you are unable to come to the library or the Bookmobile, you may qualify for our home delivery service. This service is free for Tinley Park cardholders who are ill, injured, physically challenged, or confined to their home.
Events
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, we strive to make our events as inclusive as possible. Should you need an accommodation to enjoy one of our events, please contact the library at 708.532.0160, x3 at least 10 working days before an event. We will do our best to meet your needs.

Computers and Software
We have a Windows laptop dedicated for those who are visually-impaired. This visually-assistive laptop includes:
- A specialized keyboard
- NVDA (Non-Visual Desktop Access), which reads text aloud
- Windows 10 Ease of Access for screen magnification and other assistive technologies
Magnifiers
Magnifiers are available at each public service desk upon request.
Library Materials
Large Print and Audiobooks
Our collection of over 170,000 items includes audiobooks and a robust collection of large print books. We also provide access to Libby and Hoopla, which provide digital audiobooks.
Illinois Talking Book and Braille Service
We work with the Illinois State Library to help you access the Talking Book and Braille Service (TBBS), which provides audio and braille library service via mail or digital download to any Illinois resident who is unable to read standard print material due to a permanent or temporary visual or physical disability. Adapted Books
The library houses a collection of adapted picture books accessible for all readers. These binder-bound books offer heavily laminated pages with foam spacers and a picture communication insert. These books, donated by Gannett Healthcare Group in partnership with The Friends of the Nathan Foundation and Leap into Literacy, can be found on the second floor in our parenting collection.

Sensory Bin
A sensory bin is available at the Youth Services Desk to any patron who visits the library. Tools to help manage sensory regulation include a magnifier, fidgets, a massager, noise reduction headphones, a bubble timer, and a kaleidoscope.
