Preschool-age children are invited to read 20 books that have earned the prestigious Caldecott Medal award. Participants can keep track of their reading by picking up a gameboard log sheet from the Youth Services desk or printing one out at home. Choose from the suggested Caldecott Medal booklist found on the back of the gameboard or find a title from the complete list of all winners

Fill in a space for each day that you read or listen to a Caldecott Medal winner. When you have completed your gameboard, stop by the Youth Services desk at the library for a prize.

The Caldecott Medal was named in honor of nineteenth-century English illustrator Randolph Caldecott. It is awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association. The Caldecott Medal is awarded annually to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children published by an American publisher in the United States in English during the preceding year. The award is limited to artists who are citizens or residents of the United States.
